Who's the political leader in Riverhaven?
---
That would be Lord Mayor Bressail, appointed by the late Baron Jeladric Theren. Bressail is one of the few political leaders who is not a Paladin - he is a Trader. As Therengia is a monarchy, there is no voting on the mayor.
Can you start a novice in Riverhaven?
Yes. Sometime in 2003, it became possible for novices to emerge at Aldamus house, which is off of Ring Road West. Premium players have a choice between the Crossing and Riverhaven to start off. Basic account holders will emerge in one or the other, completely at random. A new hunting area was added about a year after it became possible to start in Riverhaven - frogs. Frogs are the Riverhaven equivalent of shipyard rats. An occasional Rhoat Moda has been known to escape into frogs. If you're hunting frogs for experience, and see a Rhoat Moda arrive... run. Go to the Ranger guild, or the crate, and politely ask if someone can either go kill it, or gweth for someone to kill it. Be patient, though. Modas are a moderately-high-level critter. There's a chance that no one around can kill it.
Where do I get healed in Riverhaven?
If you are looking for an Empath, your best bet is, "The Crate." This is the general triage area for Riverhaven, including clerical aide for corpses. Use the DIR command to find the empath guild. Stop moving when you're just outside the Empath guild, because you will be at The Crate. Empaths can also occasionally be found in the following areas: Outside the Trader Market Building (not the guild), one room north of the Temple (best life mana in town) In front of the Ranger guild In the Academy In the Temple (NW and down the trail from the entrance) Outside the north gate There is also a hospital in Riverhaven, adjacent to the Empath guild. The healer there does not heal eye wounds of any kind, though.
Help! I died, where am I gonna come out at when I depart?
You'll come out at one of two places. Either the pool in the Temple, which is just east of the gate to the street, or the Standing Stones in the Zaulfung Swamp. The temple map can be found here: Ranik's Map #30 The map showing the Standing Stones can be found here: Ranik's Map #31 in the center of the map. You should note that if you die just south of the Faldesu, you will emerge in the Riverhaven temple. The assistance of a Moon Mage or Ranger should be sought immediately to get back to your grave if you don't want to lose everything you had on you. If you can't find one and can't swim the river on your own, catch the next ferry and keep your fingers crossed.
How do I get favors in Riverhaven?
First, you'll want to get a favor orb at the Alcove of the Font. You can find it on the map here: Ranik's Map #31 toward the bottom-center of the map. It's the area surrounded by trees. This works much like the favor area in the Siergelde outside the Crossing. You'll get a puzzle or riddle to solve, and emerge with your orb. Once you fill your orb, you'll want to take it to the Riverhaven Temple, here: Ranik's Map #31 in the upper right-hand corner. The little green square is where the altar is that you put your orb on. Congratulations, you've gotten another favor!
